Projector are a collective of artists. On this occasion, Projector 1.1 showcases a collaboration between the artists Anthony Kelly, John Carter and Jay Roche.

Projector 1.0
On December 12th 2006 the Projector Art Collective staged an event in the Wicklow hills. Taking the recently released text of the resignation papers of Cearbhall Ó Daláigh (fifth president of the Irish Republic 1975 -76) they created a light projection of his words which they cast into the hills and trees. In doing so they hoped to create a portal between past and present using the words to create a bridge between historical events and the present day.

Projector recorded The Last Days of the President in a series of photographs (and on digital video, see Projector 1.2). A group of these photographs are available as a set of prints. A set of Limited Edition set of digital C type prints, (edition of 50) 20” x 30” (print size) signed by the artists is now available. The photographs are printed onto archival quality photographic paper and then encapsulated (full bleed) in a clear acrylic resin with a hanging mechanism fitted to the back.

Projector 2.0
Projector 2.0 is based around a video clip recorded in the Akasaka district of Tokyo in March 2006 on a mobile phone video camera. A short conversation was accidentally recorded while filming and, 'I just like the lights' represents an exploration of this moment.

The Projector Collective have used elements from this piece of 'found conversation' to create an installation at This is not a Shop gallery space. This work is part travelogue and part exploration of the richness of even the most fleeting of experiences.
